Quiet Man (QM) is committed to be being as thoughtful and considerate as possible in all that it does. This includes being committed to reducing the impact it has on the environment and adopting the highest standards in ethical business practice.

We’re also real about what it is we do - any business which manufactures clothing and accessories has an impact on the environment. Our commitment is to try and limit or offset that impact in the following ways:

1. A new way of dressing – from Board room to wedding to country walk the QM wardrobe is designed to be worn with ease in all environments – occasion wear to be worn at all occasions - maximising its usage. The very opposite of fast or conspicuous fashion.

2. Rejuvenate – central to our offering is the sale of pre-owned items on behalf of our customers. This is includes re-selling QM items they have previously bought from us. We also source and re-furbish items that we think everyone should have in their wardrobe selected for their longevity and breadth of use.

3. Quality over quantity – we limit our production to small runs and the narrowest range of products possible. This minimises over ordering and its consequent waste.

4, Impact per wear – we design and produce products to last as long as possible and to be worn as often as possible, following the principle of “buy best, buy once”. This doesn’t always mean using the most obviously environmentally friendly materials or processes as we believe longevity of a product is a key factor in overall impact.

5. Simple, local supply chain – we look to have the simplest supply chain working with local partners. Currently, all our materials are made and sourced within the EU and all our manufacture is in a single factory in the UK. The goal here being to minimise “air miles” and to ensure the very highest standards of employment and environmental practices.
